About the Event
Durango In Person Training is a weekly class designed to help individuals discover, develop and use Integrated Strength, also known as oneness, internal or whole-body strength.
Integrated Strength is a latent capacity for most of us that must be ‘woken up’, developed and then applied to activities such as self-defense and health restoration. ‘Yi Chuan’, which roughly translates to Intention Fist is a relatively new formulation of an ancient method to tap the power of the subconscious mind to connect the body into a single unit.
The Method combines intentionally simple exercises with intense ‘Feelizations’ to bring more and more of our internal architecture under conscious control. We use our exercises and practices as awareness explorations, integrated calisthenics and attunement to purpose. Generally speaking what we work out in formal, repetitive practice we apply to freestyle and eventually casual expressions of Integrated Strength.
Our weekly classes will focus on helping you develop your personal practice. I recommend students build a daily practice habit beginning with two formal 15 minute sessions per day in addition to the weekly class. This approach helps break ingrained movement patterns and allow integration to initiate faster than fewer but longer training sessions. Ideally a student's daily practice primes them from each class session, the experiential knowledge gained effectively reframing the next learning session.
Anyone interested in joining our weekly class is welcome to try a few sessions out to see if this type of training is right for them. Developing Integrated is ‘Gung Fu’ in that it requires ‘hard work over time’. The approach favors self-motivated individuals with the discipline to maintain daily practice. Breaking down well ingrained movement and thinking patterns is a process that unfolds individually, your commitment to see this process through is an important intentional component for success.

The suggested contribution for Discover Yi Chuan members is $10 per class.
